GlycoLens provides food-composition analysis, nutritional tracking, and conceptual food-impact estimates for educational purposes only. GlycoLens is NOT a medical device, does not provide medical advice, does not perform physiological monitoring, and has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), European Medicines Agency (EMA), or any other regulatory authority.
The application’s analysis, estimation models, and data visualizations are based purely on generalized nutritional science formulas (aggregating carbohydrate, fiber, and sugar ratios) and do not reflect, predict, or simulate actual in vivo biological outcomes or blood glucose levels.
GlycoLens must NOT be used for:
- Calculating, adjusting, or determining insulin dosing or timing.
- Modifying, maintaining, or stopping any prescribed medication.
- Active clinical tracking, diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of diabetes, prediabetes, or any metabolic condition.
You acknowledge that any charts, scores, or curves displayed are abstract educational representations of food attributes, not physiological forecasts. Always consult a licensed medical professional or specialized healthcare provider before altering your diet or relying on nutritional data for chronic disease management.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing this website, registering for the early-access waitlist, or downloading and using the GlycoLens mobile application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you are prohibited from using our services.
2. Pre-Launch & Beta Testing Phase
Waitlist registration and early-access beta invitations represent an expression of interest only. GlycoLens does not guarantee application access, specific subscription pricing, or formal commercial release timelines. We reserve the right to alter, limit, or terminate early-access eligibility at any time without liability.
3. User Accounts & Responsibilities
To utilize the application, you must register for an account. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities occurring under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and represent that any household or family profiles are managed in strict accordance with local legal frameworks.
4. Subscription Billing & Fees
GlycoLens offers premium features under individual and family subscription models.
Subscription/Billing Hub:
Subscription pricing (including the Indie tier at R299 and Pro tier at R899), billing frequencies, auto-renewal mechanisms, and cancellation policies will be executed through, and governed by, the native Apple App Store or Google Play Store billing engines. All transactions are subject to the respective platform's terms of service.
5. Acceptable Use & Intellectual Property
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use GlycoLens for personal, non-commercial education. You strictly agree not to:
- Scrape, harvest, or extract data from our food databases or proprietary metabolic tables.
- Exploit or reverse-engineer the barcode scanner interface, image recognition pathways, or fallback LLM processes.
- Circumvent API rate limits, probe infrastructure vulnerabilities, or inject malicious code.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GlycoLens, its founders, affiliates, and data providers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, personal injury, or health complications (including but not limited to hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, or metabolic shock) resulting from your use of, or reliance upon, the nutritional estimates, impact scores, food-attribute curves, or alternative suggestions provided by the application. You use these educational tools entirely at your own risk.
7. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal action arising hereunder shall be filed exclusively in the courts located within that jurisdiction.
8. Platform-Specific Addendum (Apple iOS Users)
You acknowledge that these Terms are concluded between you and GlycoLens only, and not with Apple, Inc. GlycoLens is solely responsible for the application and its content. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the application.
