GlycoLens provides food-composition analysis, nutritional tracking, and conceptual food-impact estimates for educational purposes only. GlycoLens is NOT a medical device, does not provide medical advice, does not perform physiological monitoring, and has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), European Medicines Agency (EMA), South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA), or any other regulatory authority.
The application’s analysis, estimation models, and data visualizations are based purely on generalized nutritional science formulas (aggregating carbohydrate, fiber, and sugar ratios) and do not reflect, predict, or simulate actual in vivo biological outcomes or blood glucose levels.
GlycoLens must NOT be used for:
- Calculating, adjusting, or determining insulin dosing or timing.
- Modifying, maintaining, or stopping any prescribed medication.
- Active clinical tracking, diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of diabetes, prediabetes, or any metabolic condition.
You acknowledge that any charts, scores, or curves displayed are abstract educational representations of food attributes, not physiological forecasts. Always consult a licensed medical professional or specialized healthcare provider before altering your diet or relying on nutritional data for chronic disease management.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing this website, downloading, installing, or using the GlycoLens mobile application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not access or use GlycoLens.
2. Account Eligibility & Managed Dependent Profiles
Account registration and usage are governed by the following criteria:
- Account Holders (18+): You must be at least 18 years of age to register for an account, sign in, or purchase subscriptions. You represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old. Individuals under 18 may not register an account.
- Managed Dependent Profiles: As an adult account holder, you may create and manage eater profiles within your household to record meals and track nutritional data for family members, including dependents and minors. You represent and warrant that you are the parent, legal guardian, or authorized caregiver with authority to manage nutritional records for those individuals.
- Responsibility: You remain solely responsible for all activity occurring under your account and for ensuring that all data entered for managed profiles complies with applicable laws.
3. User Accounts & Security
To use personalized features, you must register for an account. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us immediately of any unauthorized account access.
4. Subscriptions & Billing
GlycoLens offers free access alongside optional Pro and Family subscription tiers.
Platform Store Billing:
All in-app purchases and subscriptions are processed directly through Apple App Store In-App Purchases or Google Play Billing. Billing cycles, renewals, trial periods, and cancellations are managed directly within your Apple ID or Google Account settings under the respective store terms.
5. Acceptable Use & Intellectual Property
We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license for personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to:
- Scrape, extract, or bulk-harvest proprietary nutritional databases, GlycoScore formulas, or food datasets.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application binaries or backend APIs.
- Interfere with, circumvent rate limits, or disrupt application infrastructure security.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GlycoLens, its developers, affiliates, and data providers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or health-related outcomes resulting from reliance upon nutritional calculations, glycemic impact scores, or educational alternatives provided by the app. You assume full responsibility for your nutritional and dietary decisions.
7. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa, without regard to conflict of law principles.
8. Platform Terms (Apple App Store)
These Terms are concluded between you and GlycoLens only, and not with Apple, Inc. GlycoLens is solely responsible for the app and its content. Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support services with respect to GlycoLens.
